Inspired by Gold

I have always been smitten with gold accessories. I wear my trusty Kate Spade Gold Watch and J.Crew Pave Bracelet on a daily basis, it has become a staple in my jewelry. Even in my home, I love gold touches to add some unexpected glam. With the seasons changing, I have been inspired by gold lately. I cannot wait to throw a sparkly gold new year’s eve party. Here are some pieces that have been on my radar lately.

Fall DIY Projects

I love a little DIY especially during fall. I probably got this trait from my mother who loves decorating and crafting. There is something about looking at a finished project and knowing you made it. Most of these projects are easy and will take minimal time, who doesn’t love a little weekend DIY? These projects can really dress up your home for the season change. Here are a few of my favorite DIY projects for fall.

Fall Bar

Maybe it is because my apartment is more centrally located, but all of my friends are always at my apartment. I try to make my apartment as festive as possible for last minute get togethers. As I have mentioned before I love to decorate for holidays. I even have a Lilly Pulitzer Christmas tree (more of that later this year!). 2014-10-02_0005

I normally switch up my bar area to reflect the season. This is an inexpensive way to celebrate. For Halloween, I display all of my orange liquors such as orange vodka, bourbon, etc. I added a fall bar towel, orange polka dotted paper straws, and an orange monogrammed tray.

No fall bar is complete without a real pumpkin and candy corn! Don’t forget fun cocktail napkins such as my “Drink up Witches”  ones from T.J. Maxx. Create a signature cocktail for your next party such as this fall one and display the ingredients on your bar.

Fall Touches On A Budget

Even though I am currently renting, I still try to make my apartment a home by decorating for the holidays. It can be overwhelming walking through the Halloween and fall aisles especially on a budget. In a small space such as an apartment, it does not take many decorations to complete the look, and decor can be reused year after year. I found the majority of my decor items from discount stores such as TJ Maxx or Target. 2014-10-02_0001

A festive wreath will welcome guests upon entering your home. I love this fall foliage wreath from Pottery Barn, because it can be used all fall not just during Halloween. 2014-10-02_0002

No apartment is complete without a glittery pumpkin! I found this sparkly gem from T.J. Maxx. To make your home smell like the season, add a pumpkin spice candle. I added a stack of fall magazines to my coffee table as well. 2014-10-02_0003

With just a few items you can make your apartment feel more like fall. I found all of these items under a $100. While decorating enjoy this fall cocktail. More details on my fall bar coming soon!
